MAKE IT YOUR OWN
Keep printer preferences without saving private content
Use an optional shared preference panel in Studio, Print Lab and Print Tray. Apply changes deliberately and measure a real printed trial.
Save only non-content choices
The shared panel has seven settings: preferred paper, input units, finish, one- or two-sided flip reminder, assumed unprintable edge in millimeters, and measured horizontal and vertical 50 mm marks. Printer names, file paths, names, notes and image pixels are not accepted in the profile.
Opening the panel does not write a record. Remember on this browser saves one optional profile at the current origin; Export preference file creates a local JSON file. Reloading or importing a profile changes the panel only. Apply supported preferences is a separate action. No remote synchronization, printer discovery or private autosave is involved.
Understand what each tool applies
Studio applies Letter/A4 and color/monochrome to a new preview. Lab applies the supported paper and input units; its other profile values remain reminders. Print Tray applies the library paper filter and two-sided page planning, not new source editions or a color transformation. Existing catalog PDFs are never silently resized or replaced.
The assumed unprintable edge is an advisory check, not a measured hardware guarantee. Measured 50 mm marks display their percentage of intended size. No correction factor, alignment offset, driver setting or automatic compensation is sent to the printer. Use the actual-size guide and repeat a physical test.
Handle unavailable storage and resets safely
Storage failures remain visible; use an explicitly exported profile when browser storage is unavailable. Invalid profile files do not replace your work or silently overwrite a saved record. A change in another document prompts an explicit reload rather than applying it.
Forget saved preferences removes only the preference key, not catalog recipes, tool drafts or downloads. Clearing private Studio or Lab work does not remove this separate non-content profile. Persistent storage and printing still require acceptance checks on the actual hosting origin and target browsers.
