Draw a small region first and decide how you will name or number cells before filling the page.
Try one first
Measure a few flat-to-flat intervals and ensure clipped edge cells do not become mistaken for complete cells.
Define what a cell means
Keep a legend for distances, symbols and numbering. Hex geometry does not by itself assign a geographic scale or a game rule. When physical cell dimensions matter, measure the printed guide rather than assuming the on-screen view is actual size.
