Materials and construction

Plain paper for coloring or tracing; suitable card for loose cutouts; pencil or coloring materials, ruler and scissors.

Before making a batch

Measure the longest axis of a large drawing and a small drawing.

Inspect identifying features and small joins at 50 mm; record any confusing contour or fragile part.

From file to finished page

  2. Compare the rearing profile, comb-and-wattle front and solid shape before tracing.
  3. Trace or color printed details; follow the outer contour only for a loose cutout.
  4. Trial-cut the small comb, wattles and toes on real paper; choose a larger view if a join fails.
