Materials and construction
Paper or light card; scissors; an adult-operated craft knife and cutting mat for the inner ovals; paper adhesive.
Before making a batch
Check both inner ovals remain within their outer frames.
Inspect narrow areas between oval and scalloped boundary.
Record curling or tearing with the chosen stock.

Large outer envelope: about 116 x 146 mm.
Large inner oval: 78 x 102 mm.
Small outer envelope: about 58 x 73 mm; inner oval: 36 x 50 mm.
From file to finished page
- Identify the large and small frames. The inner oval is removed; it is not an attachment tab.
- Cut the inner ovals first on a protected surface.
- Cut the scalloped outside contours slowly, turning the paper rather than forcing the blade around tight curves.
- Place each frame over a paper drawing or coloured sheet and adjust the overlap.
- Attach only after checking alignment. Keep the removed oval pieces for a separate paper project.
