Materials and construction

Plain paper for a first trial, a ruler, scissors and a blunt scoring tool; adult help for internal cuts.

Before making a batch

Measure the 50 mm reference and at least two named panel dimensions.

Assemble an empty plain-paper trial; record closure, seam, clearance and material behavior.

Base panel: 64 x 43 mm; walls 17 mm.

Lid panel: 65.6 x 44.6 mm; walls 11 mm. Nominal clearance 1.6 mm in each plan dimension.

From file to finished page

  1. Cut all supplied parts with their corner tabs attached and score the marked folds.
  2. Raise the base tray walls. Glue each shaded corner tab behind its adjacent wall and let the tray dry square on a flat surface.
  3. Raise the separate lid walls and glue their corner tabs inside. Let the lid dry square, then lower it over the empty base. Check all four corners for clearance without forcing the fit.
