Try a joint before building a character
The paired strips isolate a few simple pivot and sliding relationships. They are useful for comparing your material and fastener before committing to an illustrated puppet.
Record which sample moves freely and where the paper tears or binds. The sampler does not contain a complete puppet or certify the safety of a finished toy.

From file to finished page
- Choose the paper size loaded in your printer and open the matching PDF.
- Print the matching paper edition at actual size (100%). Measure the printed 50 mm line before cutting. The screen preview is not a measurement test.
- Cut the paired strips and circular reinforcement washers; keep each lettered pair together.
- Open the center holes and slot under appropriate supervision. Do not enlarge them blindly: compare them to the chosen paper fastener first.
- For A and B, stack the strips at their matching centers with a washer outside each face, then add the loose pivot fastener.
- For C, compare the additional middle pivot with the end pivots on the longer strip. For D, put the pin through the long slot and short-strip center so it can travel.
- Move each sample gently and record friction, tearing or looseness before using the joint in a puppet. No complete character puppet is included.
Printing and use notes
The dimensions describe the flat pattern and fold lines, not guaranteed internal capacity.
Physical printing, fit and assembly have not been tested. Make a scrap-paper trial before using special stock.
This is a decorative or organizational paper project, not protective shipping packaging, food-contact material or a load-rated container.
