One Place viewing frame
Focus on one view with a cutout paper frame, then record observations on an existing One Place visit sheet. Matching Letter/A4 PDFs each contain a blank frame and cut-and-use instructions. The opening is not a measured area.

Choose a detail, then keep the evidence on paper
The frame adds an open window and two printed writing fields: Place nickname and View cue. Use it with a mapped point to help focus your attention on one detail, then set it aside and write on a fresh visit sheet.
Synthetic writing: “Oak Corner” and “From bench toward forked branch.” These are example notes you add by hand, not preprinted entries or a guarantee of the same view.
Each file supplies a blank frame on page 1 and instructions on page 2. You provide printer-supported paper, a ruler, scissors and a pen. No glue, backing, extra decoration or mounted part is required.
Follow the single project guide for cutting, orientation and the complete return-visit project. Choose the smallest useful set or add one optional question.

Choose Letter or A4 to match your printer paper. Each two-page PDF has one blank frame on page 1 and reduced cutting diagrams, instructions and a digital example on page 2. Print single-sided at 100% / Actual size, with Fit off; measure the 50 mm reference before cutting.
Use printer-supported ordinary paper, a printer, ruler, scissors and pen. Ask for adult cutting help when needed. Cut the outer border, fold the center temporarily with printed faces outside, make the U cut through both layers, then remove the center and unfold flat. No knife, punch, glue or backing is needed.
Keep TOP upright, return to the same safe mapped point and view cue where practical, and hold at approximately the same eye/arm distance and angle. Look through the opening, then set the frame aside to write on an existing visit sheet. Note if the view changes.
The 100 x 70 mm opening describes the paper cutout. It focuses attention, not a measured area, calibrated scale, identical view or counting denominator. The original seven-sheet One Place collection remains the project; this frame is an optional helper.
From file to finished page
- Choose Letter or A4 to match the loaded paper. Print single-sided at 100% / Actual size, with Fit off. Measure the 50 mm scale check before cutting.
- Cut the solid outer border first. Fold temporarily down the vertical dashed center, with printed faces outside. The folded printed half is shown on page 2.
- From the folded edge: START at the top of the inner outline, cut left 50 mm; TURN down 70 mm; TURN right 50 mm; END at the folded edge. Cut through both layers. Never cut the dashed fold or short corner marks.
- Remove the folded center piece and unfold flat. Keep TOP upright. No glue, backing or mounted part is needed.
- Use the same safe mapped point and view cue where practical. Hold at approximately the same eye/arm distance and angle; note a changed view. Do not look at the sun through the frame.
- Look through the opening, then set the frame aside to write on a fresh One Place visit sheet. Use the existing map, feature, sketch and story sheets as needed.
Printing and use notes
Digital diagrams and synthetic example writing; no physical printing, outdoor use or paper durability test is claimed.
Approximate composition only. A changed holding angle can change what appears in the opening; use dated records and record uncertainty.
Print-only: no Studio editing or Print Tray packet eligibility. Do not use the frame to look at the sun.
