Twisted strip ornament / LETTER

Materials and construction
Ordinary paper for a first trial; scissors; ruler; a blunt scoring tool; a small amount of paper adhesive.
Before making a batch
Check the end overlap measures 15 mm.
Confirm one loop has no twist and the other has one half-turn.
Inspect the seam for lifting while tracing.

Two strips: 180 x 25 mm.
Joining overlap: 15 mm.
Nominal joined strip length: 165 mm.
From file to finished page
- Cut both strips. Reserve the shaded 15 mm end of each for joining.
- Use the first strip as a control: curl it into a ring without twisting and overlap the marked ends.
- For the second strip, turn one end over once before bringing the two ends together. Do not add a second half-turn.
- Join the marked ends with a thin adhesive layer. Hold them flat until the seam sets.
- Use a pencil to follow the surface around each loop. Keep the loops as separate display samples.
