Materials and construction

Plain paper for a first trial, a ruler, scissors and a blunt scoring tool; adult help for internal cuts.

Before making a batch

Measure the 50 mm reference and at least two named panel dimensions.

Assemble an empty plain-paper trial; record closure, seam, clearance and material behavior.

Four 55 x 55 mm corner blanks with 27.5 mm fold grid. For presentation or spacing trials only.

From file to finished page

  1. Cut the four square blanks and each short diagonal slit. Score the horizontal and vertical center folds.
  2. Fold both center lines, then overlap the two sections beside the diagonal slit to form a shallow corner sleeve. Glue only the shaded triangle to its overlapping paper face.
  3. Dry-fit around an expendable paper corner, keeping the sample free of adhesive. Check for marking and remove the sleeve before using a valuable original.
