Materials and construction
Plain paper for a first trial, a ruler, scissors and a blunt scoring tool; adult help for internal cuts.
Before making a batch
Measure the 50 mm reference and at least two named panel dimensions.
Assemble an empty plain-paper trial; record closure, seam, clearance and material behavior.

Inner tray panel: 56 x 42 mm with 18 mm walls.
Cover strip panels: [58, 20, 58] mm; width 44 mm. Match the tray orientation before adhesive.
From file to finished page
- Cut all supplied parts with their corner tabs attached and score the marked folds.
- Raise the base tray walls. Glue each shaded corner tab behind its adjacent wall and let the tray dry square on a flat surface.
- Fold the separate cover along its two parallel hinges. Dry-fit the tray on the shaded cover panel, with the narrow spine alongside the matching tray wall.
- Bond only the shaded cover panel to the tray base. Leave the spine and opposite cover panel free so the cover opens. Check that the cover closes without bowing the tray.
Printing and use notes
Nominal drawing dimensions are not a tested usable-capacity, load, mailing, food-contact or archival specification.
Do not place valuable, wet, hot or breakable items in an unreviewed paper prototype.
