1. Print two copies of the pattern page. Cut one square from the first copy; keep the matching face on the second copy for decoration.
2. Fold the square along one diagonal, printed side inward, to make a triangle. Place its long folded edge nearest you and its two free points at the top.
3. Fold both outer corners up to the top point and unfold them. Fold only the front top layer down to the midpoint of the long edge.
4. Refold the outer corners upward, then tuck their ends inside the front pocket. Flatten gently; keep the rear pocket opening clear.
5. Cut the intact animal outline from the spare copy. Glue it to the outside front of the folded pocket, keeping adhesive away from the page opening. The face printed on the folding square will be hidden or creased.
6. Try the pocket on an expendable page corner before using it in a book. For an edge clip, test on a thin sacrificial paper strip first; do not force the pocket onto a thick page.
