Materials and construction
Plain paper for a first trial, a ruler, scissors and a blunt scoring tool; adult help for internal cuts.
Before making a batch
Measure the 50 mm reference and at least two named panel dimensions.
Assemble an empty plain-paper trial; record closure, seam, clearance and material behavior.

Drawer panel: 56 x 40 mm with 18 mm walls.
Sleeve panel dimensions: 57.2 and 19.2 mm, depth 42.4 mm. Added nominal clearance is not a measured fit result.
From file to finished page
- Cut all supplied parts with their corner tabs attached and score the marked folds.
- Raise the base tray walls. Glue each shaded corner tab behind its adjacent wall and let the tray dry square on a flat surface.
- Fold the separate sleeve around its four panel hinges. Glue only its narrow seam tab, leaving both ends open. Let the sleeve dry before sliding the empty tray inside.
- Pre-fold the handle at its two marked end lines. Attach those short ends to the outside of the sleeve, leaving the middle arched. Fit the two decorative straps around the sleeve and fix their ends clear of the drawer opening.
- Check sliding clearance on the intended card stock. Support the model from underneath; the paper sleeve and decorations are not carrying fittings.
Printing and use notes
Nominal drawing dimensions are not a tested usable-capacity, load, mailing, food-contact or archival specification.
Do not place valuable, wet, hot or breakable items in an unreviewed paper prototype.
