Materials and construction

Plain paper, a short separate thread, ruler, scissors and a blunt scoring tool; adult help for internal cuts.

Before making a batch

Measure the 50 mm reference and at least two named panel dimensions.

Assemble an empty plain-paper trial; record closure, seam, clearance and material behavior.

Two 64 x 91 mm panels, 14 mm bottom joining tab and 8 mm side seam.

Top closure band: 20 mm.

From file to finished page

  1. Cut the net and score the center panel fold, bottom tab hinge and top closure hinge. Cut the marked top holes before assembly.
  2. Fold the two main panels face to face and glue the 8 mm shaded side seam behind the opposite panel. Keep adhesive out of the pocket.
  3. Fold the 14 mm bottom tab over the opposite panel and glue its shaded area. Leave the top opening free.
  4. Loosely lace a short thread through the top holes, working around the opening, and tie without gathering the paper tightly. Untie it to reopen.
  5. Test repeated opening with an expendable, dry paper insert. Support the pouch from underneath; the closure is not a carrying loop.
