Build the tray before the sleeve

The window belongs to the sleeve and does not change the tray floor. Make the tray first, let it dry, and use it as the trial form for the outer sleeve.

Cut the window before closing the sleeve seam. The file supplies no clear film, glazing or protective packing, so the opening remains an open display window.

A 68 x 48 mm tray with 20 mm walls and a separate sleeve with a 40 x 25 mm viewing window.

From file to finished page

  1. Choose the paper size loaded in your printer and open the matching PDF.
  2. Print the matching paper edition at actual size (100%). Measure the printed 50 mm line before cutting. The screen preview is not a measurement test.
  3. Cut the tray, liner and sleeve. Remove the viewing-window rectangle; do not cut through the remaining side rails.
  4. Crease the tray walls and corner tabs. Glue the tabs behind adjoining walls, then add the liner and allow the tray to dry.
  5. Crease the sleeve into four panels. Test-wrap it around the dry tray before gluing its side seam; do not glue the sleeve to the drawer.
  6. Position the window above the tray opening and confirm that the drawer moves without catching on the window edges.
  7. The sleeve uses a 1 mm nominal allowance around the tray. The open window provides no environmental protection; transparent film is not supplied.
Printing and use notes

The dimensions describe the flat pattern and fold lines, not guaranteed internal capacity.

Physical printing, fit and assembly have not been tested. Make a scrap-paper trial before using special stock.
