Materials and construction

Plain paper for a first trial, a ruler, scissors and a blunt scoring tool; adult help for internal cuts.

Before making a batch

Measure the 50 mm reference and at least two named panel dimensions.

Assemble an empty plain-paper trial; record closure, seam, clearance and material behavior.

Sleeve panels: 70, 3, 70 and 3 mm; depth 110 mm with 8 mm seam tab.

From file to finished page

  1. Cut the sleeve blank with its narrow seam tab attached and score the four panel boundaries.
  2. Fold the 70, 3, 70 and 3 mm panels around an expendable flat insert. Glue only the 8 mm seam tab behind the first panel and leave both ends open.
  3. Remove the insert while the sleeve dries, then check sliding clearance along the full 110 mm depth. Keep adhesive out of the sleeve.
