Materials and construction

Plain paper for a first trial, a ruler, scissors and a blunt scoring tool; adult help for internal cuts.

Before making a batch

Measure the 50 mm reference and at least two named panel dimensions.

Assemble an empty plain-paper trial; record closure, seam, clearance and material behavior.

Band strips: two 175 x 25 mm pieces with 15 mm end overlap.

From file to finished page

  1. Cut the two 175 x 25 mm strips and use an expendable printed sample for fitting.
  2. Wrap one strip around the sample and glue its 15 mm end zone to the other end of the strip. Keep adhesive off the sample; use the second strip only if another band is needed.
  3. Slide the band off and check for rubbing or ink transfer. Use expendable samples; the paper and adhesive have no archival-storage approval.

Nominal drawing dimensions are not a tested usable-capacity, load, mailing, food-contact or archival specification.

Do not place valuable, wet, hot or breakable items in an unreviewed paper prototype.
